Joan Gazonas 60, of Hamilton Square, N.J. passed away on Monday October 12, 2009 at home with her loving family by her side.

Born in Trenton and formerly of Bensalem, PA., Joan resided in Hamilton Square, N.J. for the past 3 years.

She was a Special Education Teacher for Trenton Board of Education for 15 years.

Joan was a member o f St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Mercerville, a member of the Daughters of Penelope, and a member of the NJEA.
Daughter of the late George Gazonas, she is survived by her mother Sophia Fortosis Gazonas of Hamilton Square, N.J., one brother and sister-in-law John and Pierina Gazonas of Pt. Pleasant, N.J., one sister and brother-in-law Olga and Lewis Bazakos of Brookville, N.Y., her partner of 20 years Arthur Dilarso of Bensalem, PA., many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral will be held on Thursday 9:45 a.m. from the M. William Murphy Funeral Home 1863 Hamilton Ave. in Hamilton, N.J.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church 1200 Klockner Rd. Mercerville, N.J. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton Township.Calling hours will be Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Trisagion services will be held Wednesday evening at 8:15 p.m.
