Elmer William Bado
Elmer William Bado, 85, of Whitehall, PA., under the care of Lehigh Valley Hospice, went home to be with the Lord on Friday March 15, 2013.
Born in Lobato, W. Virginia, Elmer resided most of his life in Trenton, N.J. before moving to Whitehall, PA., in 2011.
He was a foreman for Colombian Carbon Chemical Company (City Service) in Trenton for 32 years and worked for Prince Manufacturing Company in Bordentown for several years before retiring.
Elmer was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in WWII 1942-1948, with the rank of Yeoman Second Class, and was very proud to serve his country. Elmer was an active member of the Gateway to Life Community Church in Chesterfield, N.J. , serving on the Board of Trustees for many years.
Son of the late Carl and Mary Opauski Bado, brother of the late Ernest Bado and Margaret Mary Camp, he is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Anna Lee (Woolum) Bado ( April 9th, would have been 66 years); daughter and son-in-law, MaryAnn and Frank Cappon; son and daughter-in-law, William E. and Donna Bado; three grandchildren Shannon L. and her husband Robert Shaffer, Dawn and Carrie Sherratt-Bado; three great grandchildren, Joshua, Carly, and Jacob Shaffer; brother Carl Steve Bado; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gateway to Life Community Church 58 Bordentown-Chesterfield Rd., Chesterfield, N.J. 08515. The Rev. John Pavlov will officiate.
Calling hours will be Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, N.J.
Arrangements are by the M. William Murphy Funeral Home 1863 Hamilton Ave. in Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gateway to Life Community Church.
