Dorothy S. McCardell
In the care and comfort of her children, Dorothy S. McCardell died on March 25, 2013 in Boca Raton, FL. She was 83.

Daughter of the late Col. Charles H. and Alice Condon Schoeffel and wife of the late Edward J. McCardell, Jr., she is survived by her 6 children: Kathleen (Tom) LaFlamme of Ft. Pierce, FL, Mary Lou (Jerry Schenk) of Chicago, IL, Michael (Linda) of Vincentown, NJ, Nancy of Key West, FL, Edward of Venice, CA, and Martin (Eileen O’Malley) of Monmouth Junction, NJ; by her brothers Charles P. Schoeffel of Brant Beach, NJ and Richard C. Schoeffel (Rene) of Ocala, FL; by her 8 grandchildren: Megan, Sean, Samantha, Julia, Katherine, Charles, Joseph and Marjorie; by her great grandson Donovan; by her caregivers Nicola Bennett, Natalie Henry, and Christine Catoggio; and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dottie, a graduate of Villa Victoria Academy, was born and lived in Trenton until moving to Florida in 1981.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for her on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11:00 at St. George Catholic Church, 1370 River Road in Titusville, NJ. Visitation with her family is available that morning at the church from 9:30 until the start of the service. Burial will take place at the Ewing Church Cemetery, 100 Scotch Road in Ewing.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation in her memory to the Scleroderma Foundation (www.scleroderma.org) or to the Florence Fuller Child Development Center in Boca Raton, FL (www.florencefullercenters.org). Information about those organizations is found on their websites.
