William Cody McCarron
William Cody McCarron, 83, of Trenton passed away Tuesday at RWJUH at Hamilton.

Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong resident.

Mr. McCarron was employed by US Steel for over 35 years. He went on to work for the State of New Jersey Parole Board retiring 3 years ago after a career of more than 20 years.

Mr. McCarron was on the Safety Committee of US Steel; a grievance representative for the United Steelworkers of America Local 5092 and treasurer of the Fairless Credit Union.

He enjoyed working, he considered it his hobby. Mr. McCarron enjoyed the Jersey shore, spending time with his family and horse racing, especially when his brother’s horse, “Call to Arms” was involved.

Son of the late Eugene and Dorothy Cody McCarron, husband of the late Rosemary Burnett McCarron, father of the late Richard and William, brother of the late Eugene McCarron and esteemed friend of the late George Bush, he is survived by his daughters, Shawn McCarron of Trenton and Diane Kotelnicki of Seaside Heights; his step-son, Scott Critti of Trenton; his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Pat McCarron of Jobstown; his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Charles Stearle of TN; his daughter-in-law, Eileen McCarron Markowski of Hamilton; his 9 grandchildren, Shannon, Brian, Samantha, Erica, Ashley, Gabrielle, Ricky, Tyler and Cody; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 until 9pm at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Wednesday at 11am in St. Anthony’s Church, 626 So. Olden Ave. Trenton. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
