George “Lou” Martinez
George “Lou” Martinez, 53, of Ewing passed away on Monday surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle fighting cancer.

Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong resident of Ewing Township.

George's passion and love was riding his motorcycles, cooking, and spending time and entertaining his family and friends. George had an amazing gift of making everyone laugh. His humor and ability to light up a room will forever be remembered. He has touched so many people in his life and he will be deeply missed.

George had most recently worked as a Maintenance Tech with Avalon Bay Communities and Parkside Manor Apartments. He also worked for many, many years as a Chef at his wife's family restaurant, Lieggi's Ewing Manor Restaurant in Ewing, where he really embraced his love of cooking.

Predeceased by his father, Jose Martinez and his grandmother, Katherine Matthews, he is survived by his wife, Anna Lieggi-Martinez; his 3 daughters, Rachel and Alexandra both at home, and Michelle Martinez, USN, currently stationed in Sicily, Italy; his mother, Katherine Martinez of Hamilton; his sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Salvatore Damiano of Hamilton; his 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Richard and Nadine Martinez of Vineland, and Frank Martinez of Hamilton; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gina and Ennio Lieggi of Lawrenceville; 4 nieces, Sarah and Alyssa Damiano, Michelle & Daniela Lieggi; 4 brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Joe & Patricia Lieggi, Ennio “JR” Lieggi, Paul Lieggi and Peter Lieggi and also many other extended family.

Visiting hours will be Friday from 5 9 pm at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing. Funeral service will be Saturday at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Ewing Cemetery.
