Popy Rose, 88, of Newtown, PA, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday at Capital Health System – Hopewell.
Born in Kalamoti, Chios, Greece, she immigrated to the United States in 1948 and lived in Trenton before moving to Newtown.
She, along with her husband Gust, owned and operated the Post Diner on East State Street in Trenton for over 20 years.
Wife of the late Gust Rose, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Alexandra Donna Rose of Newtown, and Michael and Katherine Rose of Ewing; 6 grandchildren, Constantine M. and his wife Maria, Constantine G., George, Steven, Andrew and Kaliopi Rose; 1 great grandson, Mihali; 1 sister, Ioanna Vitellas of Chios, Greece, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Monday 11AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 7 – 9P.M. with Trisagion service at 8P.M. at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton Twp. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
