Carl J. Muehleisen
Carl J. Muehleisen, 94, of Ewing passed away Monday at Greenwood House in Ewing.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Muehleisen was a tool and die maker throughout Trenton and for Rutgers University, where he retired in 1991 after a 23 year career.
He was a graduate of Trenton Catholic High School and attended the School of Industrial Arts in Trenton.
A talented artist, Mr. Muehleisen was a member of the Ewing Arts Group, the Holy Name Society, Catholics United for the Faith, the Mercer County Steel Quoits League and a lifelong communicant of Incarnation Church.
He served in the Coast Guard during WWII and in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Son of the late Carl A. and Anna E. Scully Muehleisen, husband of the late Regina M. Muehleisen, father of the late John M. and of the late Jean Muehleisen, brother of the late Maurice M. Muehleisen, he is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Regina and Edward Hoag of Titusville, and Kristina and William McSalis of Williston, VT; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Carl J. and Angelika Muehleisen of West Trenton, Paul T. and Kathleen Muehleisen of Yardville, and Timothy M. and Diane Muehleisen of Ewing; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 sisters and 1 brother-in-law, Margaret Tallon of Florence, SC, and Anne and Herb Leeds of FL; also survived by nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8PM at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing and again on Saturday from 10 until 11AM at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, Morris Hall, 1 Bishops Drive, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton.
