Madeline Jane Burns
Madeline Jane Burns, 91, of Hamilton passed away peacefully Friday March 7 at RWJUH @ Hamilton surrounded by her family.

Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Burns was a graduate of Trenton High School, class of 1941. She was a telephone operator with NJ Bell and then with the State of NJ working first in the agriculture building and later with the NJ State College. She went on to work as co-owner with her husband in the Burns Bonded Cleaners.

Daughter of the late Arthur and Anna Dechan Huart, sister of the late Paul A. Huart, she is survived by her husband of 64 years, John A. Burns; a daughter, Anne Burns and her husband Stephen Bronner of Ft. Lee; 2 sons, Mark J. Burns of Hamilton and Paul A. Burns of Mt. Holly; a sister-in-law, Leah Huart; a brother-in-law, Thomas A. Burns, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 AM at St. Anthony’s Church, 626 S. Olden Ave., Trenton, NJ. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to either St.Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or O.L.S./St. Anthony’s Parish.
