They were members of Immaculate Conception Church for many years, where Hilda was involved in PTA, Parish Carnival Committee and student tutoring. In her later years, she also enjoyed an active social life with friends and neighbors.

She was currently a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in West Trenton.

Predeceased by her parents, Carl and Eva (Hartmann) Frey and her aunt, Rosa Heinemann, she is survived by two sons and their wives, Deacon Steven and Mary of Ewing NJ, and Lawrence and Paula of Bartlesville OK; her grandchildren, Emily (Szmutko) Dempster and her husband Joseph Dempster of Mount Penn, PA, Eva Szmutko and Steven Francis Szmutko of Ewing NJ, and Carl Szmutko and Lauren Szmutko of Bartlesville, OK; and three great-grandchildren, Joseph, Cailin and Jakob Francis Dempster.
