Eleanor McGrory, 99, of Hamilton, born in Trenton and a lifelong resident, was received by the hands of God on Thursday April 17, 2014, with her loving family by her side.
A graduate of Cathedral High School – class of 1932, Eleanor was formerly employed at the Hotel Hildebrecht, Puritan Rubber Co. and finally, retired in 1977 as bookkeeper and office manager of Volk Tire Corp. after 34 years of dedicated service.
She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church; a lifetime member of both the Ladies Auxiliary of Colonial Volunteer Fire Company and the Ladies Auxiliary Volunteer Firemen of Mercer County and the State of NJ.
Daughter of the late Paul and May Stanton McGrory, sister of the late Catherine McGrory, Alice Hofmann and Paul McGrory, Jr., sister-in-law of the late Helen Gortat McGrory, she is survived by a brother-in-law, George Hofmann; seven nieces and nephews, George Hofmann and wife Grace, Paula Pizza and husband Anthony, Maureen Pelehaty and husband Dennis, Kathy Cedole, Deborah Parsons and husband Tom, David McGrory and wife Susan, and Nancy Koch and husband Kermit; also many great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to her loving and caring caregivers Laurence and Lydie, and the VNA Hospice.
Funeral Wednesday 8:30am from the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Church 626 So. Olden Ave. at 9:30am. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
