Bruce L. Rhoads
Bruce L. Rhoads, 93, of Langhorne, PA, passed away on Friday at Sunrise Senior Living at Lower Makefield.
Born and raised in Trenton, Bruce lived in the Trenton-Hamilton area until 1988, then moved to Langhorne,Pa, and lived in Lower Makefield for the past five years.
He was a Tax Investigator for the State of New Jersey Department of Taxation, where he retired in 1988 after 20 years of service. After his retirement, Bruce worked for New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company and was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital in Langhorne,PA.
He was a graduate of Trenton High School class of 1938, enjoyed reading, horse racing, and loved his dogs.
Bruce was a veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII, his decorations include the Central WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Campaign Medal.
Son of the late Lewis and Ruth Plummer Rhoads, husband of the late Margaret Rhoads, and brother of the late Richard Rhoads, and Hope Spanichatti, he is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, M. Sheila and James Peters of Ewing; Rebecca and Gerald Ellingsworth of Ft. Myers, FL; a son, Richard B. Rhoads and his companion, Maureen Coughlin of Southampton, NJ; five grandchildren Jason, Jessica, Devin, Christopher, and Jeremy, and several nieces, nephes, and cousins.
Funeral services will be Monday at 12:00 noon at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home 1863 Hamilton Ave. in Hamilton.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton.
Calling hours will be Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
