Margaret M. LaBaw
Margaret M. LaBaw, 84, passed away Tuesday at Capital Health System – Hopewell Campus surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born in Trenton, she lived most of her life in Ewing. In 2002, she moved to Arizona to be with her daughter before recently returning to the Titusville area.
Mrs. LaBaw was a graduate of St. Mary’s Cathedral High School and went on to become a certified x-ray technician. She was later employed by the State of New Jersey, where she retired, after a career that spanned more than 20 years, as the secretary to the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture – State of New Jersey.
Afterwards her attention was turned to raising her family and later becoming a Diet Workshop instructor. Years later she worked as the secretary at the West Trenton Presbyterian Church while holding the job of the Director of the Ewing Meals-on-Wheels. She moved to Arizona where she worked as an associate with BonWorth.
She joined the alumni association of the Chandler (AZ) Citizen’s Police Academy and volunteered for Neighbors Who Care. Throughout her life she volunteered and held membership in many different organizations to include the Prospect Heights Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, The Girl Scouts of America and the Boy Scouts of America.
Most recently, while residing in Arizona, she was an enthusiastic member of the Red Hat Society, the “Chandler Chicks” and many social clubs within the Sun Bird Community.
Daughter of the late Martin J. and Sarah C. Fahey Manning, wife of the late Frank D. LaBaw Sr,, sister of the late Robert, Joseph and James Manning, she is survived by a daughter, Denise Maksymow of Chandler, AZ; a son, F. David LaBaw, Jr. and his wife Linda of Titusville; 2 grandchildren, Alexander and Christopher LaBaw; also, several nieces and nephews including Maureen DeFalco, Michael Manning, Mark Manning and their families.
The family will receive friends at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing on Friday from 6 – 9pm and Saturday from 9 – 9:30AM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 10:30AM in St. George Church, 1370 River Rd., Titusville, NJ 08560
