Joseph P. Canulli
Joseph P. Canulli, 82, of Ewing passed away Tuesday at Compassionate Care Hospice.
Born in Ewing, he was a lifelong resident.

Mr. Canulli was a Ewing Twp. Police Officer from 1957 until his retirement in 1983 and was known as “Officer Joe.” He owned Greenwood Florist for 9 years and later, was a courier for Princeton Volvo for 17years before fully retiring in 2012.

A 1950 graduate of Trenton High School, he was a member of the American Legion Post 314, Ewing FOP, and the Retired Police and Firemen; a life member of the West Trenton Volunteer Fire Company and the Trenton Elks Lodge 105.

Mr. Canulli proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.

Son of the late Joseph and Philomena D’Eleuterio Canulli and brother of the late Anna Cepega, Lucy Notarian, Theresa Savadge, Nicholas, Frank, Louis and Vincent “Jim” Canulli, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Arline “Pinky” Bohovsky Canulli; four daughters and a son-in-law, Joanne Canulli of Hamilton, Paula Messick, Arline Canulli, and Laura and Eric Strouse all of Ewing; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph III and Sharon Canulli of Ewing; eight grandchildren, Jacqueline and Erik Strouse, Christopher and Kelly Messick and Dana Morreale, Heather and Stephanie Canulli, and Hunter Miller; 1 great grandson, Jeremy Morreale; one brother, John Canulli of Pennington; one sister, Edith Guadagno of Ewing, and many, many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 until 8 pm and Monday from 8 until 9am at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10am Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Entombment will follow in Ewing Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the West Trenton Volunteer Fire Company, 40 West Upper Ferry Rd., Ewing, NJ 08628, Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 W.
