Eugene Miles Flory (Gene)
Eugene Miles Flory (Gene), 90, of Flemington, went to his eternal home on Wednesday August 13. He spent the last 15 months at St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing at Morris Hall in Lawrenceville .
Born in Camden, NJ, Eugene also resided in Hawthorne NJ, Morristown Tennessee, Louisville KY, Cornwall PA. and Flemington, NJ.
Mr. Flory was a US Navy veteran of WWII, He earned a degree in engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He then went on to become a fire and safey protection engineer and had a distinguished career in that field. He was an incredibly humble and kind man who helped many people advance in their careers.
Eugene traveled extensively for both work and pleasure, he enjoyed all types of water sports and music but what he loved the most was spending time with his family. He was an amazingly intelligent, creative and talented man. He had an incredible sense of humor. He was fun loving and thoroughly enjoyed children and animals. Neighborhood children would knock on the door and ask if Mr. Flory could come out and play.
Son of the late Miles Emanuel and Catherine Brandt Flory, step-son of the late Winifred Flory, and brother of the late Elizabeth Agar and Katherine Franco, he is survived by his loving wife, Mary L. Zambon Flory of Lawrenceville; four daughters, Kathleen Mary Phillips of Edgewood, New Mexico; Mary Ann “Mimi” Sabo and husband Robert of Bayville, NJ; Donna Jean Sooley and husband Raymond of West Milford, NJ; Terese Marie “TC” Buchanan and husband Joseph of Stockton, NJ; nine grandchildren, Michelle, Barbara, Diane, Brandt, Daniel, Kenneth, Susan, Timothy, and Bridget; nine great grandchildren, Kristin, Katherine, Joseph, James, Brandon, Cameron, Allison, Kaitlyn, and Zara; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial immediately following.
Entombment: will be in St. Magdalen’s Cemetery and Mausoleum 94 N. Main St., Flemington, NJ 08822.
Arrangements are by the M. William Murphy Funeral home 935 Parkway Ave. in Ewing.
