Argero (Gerry) Demitry
Argero (Gerry) Demitry, 99, passed away on Thursday August 21, 2014.
Born in Varos, Lemnos, Greece on September 8, 1915, Gerry came to the United States when she was 5 years old and graduated high school in Norwich, Connecticut. She married George Demitry in September of 1941 and moved to Trenton. She worked for the State of New Jersey until her retirement.
She was a member of the ST. George Greek Orthodox Church, the Greek Ladies Philoptochos Society, Charter member of The Daughters of Penelope organization and a Sunday school teacher.
Gerry was predeceased by her parents, Pantelis and Epsepeli Georgudis; brother, Arthur Georgudis; sister, Mary Georgudis; brothers-in-law, James Demitry, Fotis (Fred) Demitry and his wife Catherine; and sister-in-law, Anastasia Vulgaris and her husband Michael. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Lillian Demitry, nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1200 Klockner Rd. on Monday from 10 – 11AM. The funeral service will begin at 11AM followed by the burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
