Carl J. “Jim” Yoders
Carl J. “Jim” Yoders, 70, of West Trenton, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis in Trenton.

Born in Pennington, Jim was a lifelong West Trenton resident.

He was a land surveyor for the State of New Jersey, Department of Transportation, retiring after many years of service.

Jim was a veteran of the United States Navy serving with the Underwater Demolition Team (UDT) during the Vietnam War.

A graduate of both Ewing High School and Mercer County Community College, he was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Sons of the American Revolution Philadelphia Chapter, Philadelphia Navy League, Civil Engineers Association, and the Philadelphia Corvette Club.

Carl was an avid auto enthusiast. He loved doing restorations and going to auto shows,whether vintage or brand new. His hobbies included NASCAR, fishing and boating, and taking his traditional fishing trips to Canada with friends. First and foremost, he was a pet lover, and always enjoyed walking his best buddy, Connor.

Son of the late Carl and Mary Suydam Yoders, he is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathleen Johnson Yoders; daughter, Kathleen “Joy” Yoders-Dey, and her husband Erin Dey of Eastampton, NJ; several nieces, nephews, dear friends, and relatives.

Calling hours will be at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 West Upper Ferry Rd., West Trenton, Wednesday from 9:00AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.

Arrangements are by the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing.
