Bernadette Norton of Pennington passed away Sunday at home surrounded by her family.
Born in Altoona, PA, she has been a resident of the greater Trenton area since 1955.
Mrs. Norton was a graduate of Georgetown University - School of Nursing; an accomplished bridge player; an avid golfer and tennis player; a legacy member of Trenton Country Club; and along with her husband, the late Dr. Peter J. Norton, traveled extensively.
Daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude Seibert Poremsky, wife of the late Dr. Peter J. Norton, and sister of the late Joseph Poremsky, she is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth Ann and Michael Borski of Yardley, PA, and Cynthia Norton and Robert Cockren of Scotch Plains, NJ; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Richard J. and Diane Norton of Oak Ridge, and Peter J. and Kim Norton of Yardley, PA; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandsons.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 – 8pm at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing, NJ 08618, and on Thursday from 9AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrenceville Rd., Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. The burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton.
