Joseph F. Jacobs
Joseph F. Jacobs, 85, of Ewing passed away on Sunday at Capital Health System – Hopewell.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Jacobs retired in 1991 from General Motors as a quality operator after a 30 year career.
He had a keen, lifelong interest in TV and everything electronic. He even built the first television in his neighborhood from a mail-order kit.
A member of the American Legion Post 458, he proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Son of the late Joseph and Helen Parcinski Jacobs and brother of the late Walter Jacobs, he is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rose Vochek Jacobs; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl A. and Gerard E. Branigan of Richmond, IN; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey M. and Darylann Jacobs of Columbia, TN; 5 grandchildren, Heather, Dana, Craig, Allison and Jason; 4 great grandchildren, Tyler, Aaliyah, Ashlynn and Avery; also, several nieces and nephews, including Frances Golinski, who will always be considered a daughter.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 – 9pm at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30am in the Church of the Incarnation, 1545 Pennington Rd., Ewing. Interment will follow at St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, Ewing.
