John E. Kane, III, 70, of Ewing
John E. Kane, III, 70, of Ewing, passed away at home on Thursday October 30, 2014 with his loving family by his side.

Born in Trenton, John was a life long area resident.

John was a production supervisor with General Motors Corp. before retiring with 32 years of service.

He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School - Class of 1962, a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Vietnam War, stationed on the USS Essex CVS-9 Aircraft Carrier.

John was a life member of the Pennington Rd. Fire and First Aid Squad; a member of Incarnation St. James Church, Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, and the B.P.O. Elks Lodge # 105.

He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s many sporting events, saltwater fishing, and trips to Lancaster, PA and Ocean City, MD. He was an avid New York Giants and Jets fan, and NASCAR fan.

Son of the late John E. and Doris Stevenson Kane, and brother of the late Mary Louise Gilbert, he is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Susan Thoma Kane of Ewing; three daughters and one son-in-law, Erin and Andrew Salmon, Shannon and Susie Kane all of Ewing; five grandchildren, Stephen and Anne DeBoskey, Dakota Ditmars, Andrew and Christopher Salmon; a sister, Martha Mickett of West Palm Beach, FL; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his English Setter, Windy.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 11:00AM until 1PM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 West Upper Ferry Rd., West Trenton.

There are no calling hours at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1PM.

Burial with military honors will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.

Arrangements are by the M. William Murphy Funeral Home 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing.
