M. Madelyn McClain
M. Madelyn McClain, 101, of West Trenton, was called into God’s Care on Friday January 2, 2015 with her loving family by her side at RWJUH at Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, Madelyn was a lifelong Trenton resident.
She was a supervisor for the State of New Jersey, Division of Motor Vehicles, where she retired in 1978 after 46 years.
Madelyn was a graduate of Cathedral High School - Class of 1930 and a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. She enjoyed traveling, trips to Atlantic City, and family vacations in Cape May.
Daughter of the late Michael J. and Elizabeth Noon Kane, wife of the late George J. McClain, and sister of the late Howard Kane, John F. Kane and wife, Mary C. Kane.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia M. and Thomas J. Cochran of West Trenton, with whom she resided; two grandchildren, Tara Otto of West Trenton, and Meghan LaMorte and husband Marc of Mercerville; five great grandchildren, Keaghan, Caleigh, Marco, Eliana, and Luciano; a brother-in-law, John F. McClain of Doylestown, PA; and many dear friends.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6 – 9 PM at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home 935 Parkway Ave. in Ewing.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 137 West Upper Ferry Rd., West Trenton.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Madelyn’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148.
