Mary H. “Holly” Waldron
Mary H. “Holly” Waldron, 95, of Media, PA passed away on Wednesday.
Born in Binghamton, NY, she moved to Plainsboro, NJ as a young girl. She married Dr. Charles J. Waldron and settled in Hamilton Twp. where they raised a family. Upon retirement, they moved to Long Beach Island. She has been a resident of Media for the last 7 years.
Mrs. Waldron was a graduate of Princeton High School and Connecticut College where she majored in history and government. She was a social worker for the Division of Old Age Assistance in Middlesex County and the State Board of Children’s Guardians in Mercer and Monmouth Counties. She performed extensive volunteer work on behalf of Catholic Charities and St Francis Hospital and was a member of the Board of Governors of the Greater Trenton Symphony Association. She and Charlie enjoyed socializing with friends at the Trenton Country Club and both loved to travel. “Holly” was proud of her Irish heritage and made more than 20 trips to Ireland visiting with friends and relatives.
Daughter of the late John K. and Veronica Hickey Holohan, wife of the late Dr. Charles J. Waldron, mother of late Sean K. Waldron and sister of the late John E. Holohan, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Michele W. and Frank Daly of Media, PA; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles E. “Chuck” and Kathleen Waldron of West Trenton, NJ; 2 – grandchildren, Timothy P. Waldron and his wife Corey of Lawrence, and Maura K. Daly and her husband Bret Hyde of Queens, NY; a sister, Katherine McCarthy of Princeton; also, many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 9:30 until 10:45am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3816 East State Street Ext., Hamilton, NJ 08619. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton, 383 West State Street, Trenton NJ 08607-1423, or Women’s Resource Center, 113 W. Wayne Ave., Wayne, PA 19087.
