Rita Keffer Fitzpatrick
Rita Keffer Fitzpatrick closed her eyes and died peacefully in her home on March 23, after receiving Holy Communion.
She was born in 1928 in Trenton, NJ to John and Elizabeth Keffer. Rita attended Cathedral High School where she sang in the operettas and Trenton State College where she earned her degree in education. Rita was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Choir for many years. She also sang at Artist Showcase Theatre. She worked as a Patient Representative at St. Francis Hospital and was a member of Incarnation Parish.
Rita married and is survived by Dr. James Fitzpatrick. They became the parents of eight children.
Predeceased by Thomas Vincent Fitzpatrick, she is survived by her children, and their spouses, Mary Liz Ivins, Rita and Aldo Cavalli, Rose Mary and Gordon Stevenson, Anne Louise and Michael Stevens, Marie and Lubo Sarvas, Dr. James Fitzpatrick and Dr. Michael and Stacy Fitzpatrick. In addition, she was blessed with sixteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
One of six children, she is predeceased by her sister, Rose Marie Leadem and brother, Dr. John P. Keffer. She is survived by her siblings, Elizabeth Wetzel, Louise Biemer, and Dr. Joseph H. Keffer.
The family invites friends and family to a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11am Incarnation Church, 1545 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ 08618 on Thursday, March 26. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Incarnation Parish.
