Dorothy White Collins Johannes
Dorothy White Collins Johannes, better known as Dottie, Sissy or Aunt Sis, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Jersey City to parents Anna and Harry White, Dottie was predeceased by her siblings, Betty Vogt, Stutz (Harry) White and Sonny (George) White. She was also predeceased by her beloved daughter, Dorrie Collins and her infant son John. She is survived by her son, Thomas Collins and his wife Michelle, and her two daughters, Irene Hosszu and Patricia Collins. She is also survived by her longtime best friend and confidant, Caitlin the cat.

Dorothy’s strength, courage in the face of adversity and sense of humor, typical of her Irish descent, was well known amongst her family and closest friends.

Dorothy raised 4 children alone, while working 32 years as an Executive Secretary for the Commissioners’ Office of The State of New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance until her retirement in 2002.

Loving memories of Dorothy, including the sounds of Frank Sinatra ballads or Jeanette McDonald/Nelson Eddy duos, will forever live on in the lives of her eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Dorothy, “until we meet again
May God hold you
In the palm of his hand”
Irish Blessing
