Robert W. Metcalfe
Robert W. Metcalfe, 76, of Bordentown passed away Wednesday at Hamilton Continuing Care Center, Hamilton.
Born in Somerville, he was raised in Princeton Twp. and lived in Ewing before being a resident of Bordentown for the past 28 years.
A graduate of Princeton High School, he was a machinist for Transamerica-DeLaval for 42years before retiring in 2001.
Mr. Metcalfe was an elder and former member of the Slackwood Presbyterian Church; member of the NRA; an avid train enthusist; a dog lover, and collector of antiques. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, weekend outings to flea markets, and various collectable shows.
Son of the late Charles K. and Edith J. Foster Metcalfe, husband of the late Elizabeth Metcalfe, and Bette Metcalfe, and brother of the late Elsa Metcalfe, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark D. and Debra Metcalfe of Ewing, and Frank C. and Carrie Metcalfe of Charlotte, NC; his daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Emanuel Evrenoglou of Millville; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Vacirca, Mark D. Metcalfe II, Elizabeth Metcalfe and Ella Metcalfe; one sister, Joan Atkins of Ontario, CA; and 2 nephews, Michael and Scott Atkins and their families.
The family will receive friends at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing on Sunday from 6 – 8pm and on Monday from 9:30 – 10:30AM. Funeral Services will begin at 10:30AM. Burial will follow in Pennington Cemetery.
