Edward J. Tawes
Edward J. Tawes, 64, of Hamilton passed away at home on Friday, June 19, 2015.
Born in Baltimore, MD, he has been a Hamilton resident for over 40 years.
A graduate of Crisfield High School (MD), he was a Systems Analyst with the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, State of New Jersey for over 32 years before retiring 8 years ago.
Ed enjoyed traveling (especially to Las Vegas), bowling, and eating out with family and friends. One of his favorite activities was to grill hot dogs for a special cousin. He also liked playing poker, showing his 1967 Camaro convertible and rooting for the Colts and Orioles.
Ed was president of the Labor and Industry bowling league and a past vice president of the Rolling Oldies Car Club.
Son of the late Kenneth “Jo Jo” and Louise Manke Tawes, sister of the late Kathy Rentschler Coffee, half-brother of the late Mary Grace Herget and the late Jimmy Tawes, he is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marie; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral service will be Tuesday June 30 at 10AM at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton.
Visiting hours will be Monday 6 – 8pm and Tuesday from 9 - 10am.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
