Joan M. Rafferty
Joan M. Rafferty of Long Pond, PA returned to the Lord on Wednesday, November 25, 2015.
Born on October 1, 1935 in Trenton, NJ, Joan was the daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth McClain Rafferty, and sister of the late Michael Joseph Rafferty. Joan is survived by her sister, Barbara Holohan (Matthew); her brother, Thomas Rafferty; sister-in-law, Elaine Rafferty; nieces, Michele Guerino (Joseph), Cynthia Rafferty, and Dana Marie Rafferty; nephews, Michael Rafferty, and Dr. Devin Rafferty (Katy); and great nieces, Sophia Guerino, Eva Guerino, and Peyton Rafferty.
Joan was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament Grammar School, Catherdral High School, Georgian Court University, and University of Dayton (Ohio). Joan was an educator for forty-two years in both parochial and public schools.
She was a devout member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, Pocono Pines, PA where she served on the parish council and was a volunteer at the Pocono Medical Center and the Prison Fellowship Ministries.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday 11:00 AM at Incarnation Church, Pennington Rd. in Ewing.
Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Lalor St. in Trenton.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101-9950 or to Mount Carmel Guild, 73 N. Clinton Ave., Trenton, NJ 08609.
