Louis F. Smith
Louis F. Smith, 75, of Hamilton, passed away on December 17, 2015 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Hospital in Trenton.

Born in Hamilton, he was a graduate of Steinert High School and Mercer County Community College.

Mr. Smith served in the United States Navy.

Mr. Smith worked for Royal Liquors, PSE&G and PIE Trucking.

He retired from the Trenton Fire Department in 1995 after 22 years of service. He later became a City of Trenton Fire Inspector and was a Fire Commissioner for Hamilton Township Fire District 8 from 1982-2015. He was a life member of the Colonial Volunteer Fire Co where he held many offices during his 58 years as a volunteer.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth Bachman Smith, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Eva Smith, Rev. Richard and Rita Smith, his sister and brother-in-law, Genevieve and Joseph Woods, nephew Joey Woods, his sister-in-law Marie Wrobel and brother-in-law Sam Bruccoleri;

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carmela Carol (Bruccoleri) Smith; his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Rosemarie Fuchs-Smith; daughter Rita Smith; and daughter and son-in-law Luann and Dave Smolka;and a close family friend, Dana Sost; his grandchildren, Heidi Gardner and husband Tyler, Alecia Fuchs and her fiancé Kevin Burroughs, Briana Smith, Jenna Brink, Anthony, Bryan, Steven and Victoria Smolka; brother-in-law and sister-in- law Philip and Joanne Bruccoleri and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 – 8PM and Monday 9:30 – 10:30AM at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave. Hamilton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11AM at St. Anthony’s Church, 626 So. Olden Ave., Trenton.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to Trenton Fallen Firefighters Scholarship Fund, 244 Perry St., Third Floor, Trenton, NJ 08618
