Evelyn E. Danenhower Holt
Evelyn E. Danenhower Holt, 82, long-time resident of Ewing, passed away on December 21, 2015 at 9:43AM at her home surrounded by her family.
Born, raised and educated in Trenton, she was a resident of Ewing since 1954. Evelyn was a florist for 35 years. She worked in her husband’s family business, Martha Ray Florist. She and her late husband owned and operated the Debbie Ray Florist until his death in 1988. Evelyn then was employed at Mercer Hospital (Capital Health) for over twelve years.
Wife of the late Harry Holt Jr.; sister of the late Alice White, Janet Breskin, James and William Danenhower, she is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Debbie and Glenn Varanyak of Burlington Twp., Timothy and Casey Holt of Hamilton Twp., Marlene and Patrick Wesner of Ewing Twp., and James and Barbara Holt of Hamilton Twp.; her grandchildren, Melissa, Heather and Kyle Varanyak of Burlington, and Richard and Kaitlyn Wesner of Ewing; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Danenhower of Hamilton; several nieces, nephews and friends. Also, all her children at the West Trenton Fire Company who called her Mama Holt.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 – 8pm and Monday from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 10:30AM at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing.
Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
