Daughter of the late Anton and Priscilla (Dunda) Kukucka, she was born 86 years ago in Revloc, PA. Josephine moved to Trenton as a young woman, met and married the love of her life Robert Wesley Mains and together they raised their family until his death in 1995.

She eagerly took on the role of matriarch and planned numerous family reunions to ensure that future generations continued to maintain close bonds. She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and a former member of the Altar & Rosary Society.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her great-grandson, Kamron Mains and her siblings, Frances, John, Stephen, Mary, Anthony and Paul.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted children Barbara Hamnett (Donald) of Newtown, PA; Robert (Lita) Mains of Chula Vista, CA; Vincent (Diane) Mains of Westford, MA; Eileen Roskos (David) of Pennington, NJ; and Timothy (Cindy) Mains of Hamilton Square, NJ. She was the proud grandmother of Paul and Scott Hamnett, Jill (Hamnett) McKenzie, Christopher and Benjamin Mains, Andrew, Alexandra, Mark, Brooke, Sydney, Corinne, Samantha and Eric Mains, Danica (Roskos) Haig, Samuel and Austin Roskos and Ryan Mains. She was the loving great-grandmother of Lucas, Owen, Lily, Emily, Nathan and Zoe Hamnett; Kayvon, Greysen and Elias Mains; Liam and Maura Josephine McKenzie. Her sister, Priscilla McDonald of Morrisville, PA also survives her as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, January 14, 2016 from 5 to 8pm and Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30am at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Avenue, Hamilton, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 11am at St. Anthony’s Church, 626 South Olden Avenue, Trenton, NJ. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton Avenue, Hamilton, NJ.

Josephine’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and nurses at St. Joseph’s for their care, compassion and support.
