Kathleen M. Kisko
Kathleen M. Kisko, 64, of Hamilton passed away Monday at Laurelton Village Care Center, Brick, NJ.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident.
Kathy was a career civil servant, beginning in 1973 with the NJ Dept. of Transportation. In 1975, she joined the NJ Dept. of State as an accountant. Over the course of her career, she served as the Department’s Executive Assistant, Asst. Director and then Director of Administration, Chief of Staff, and since 2000, as Assistant Secretary of State under four Secretaries of State from both political parties. Respected within the Dept. of State, across state government, and in the arts and history communities, Kathy epitomized the ideal of public service. She will be missed by her colleagues and friends, many of whom considered her a mentor.
Daughter of the late Stanley and Gertrude Smith Rette, and wife of the late Charles, she is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Clifford Cicogna, Sr. of Pt. Pleasant; 1 niece, Amy Almond and husband Andrew and their son, Asher; 2 nephews, Clifford Cicogna, Jr. and Scott Cicogna; her cousin, Joanne Krulikowski and husband Richard.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 8:30 until 10:15AM at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM at St. Anthony’s Church, 626 So. Olden Ave, Trenton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the NJ State Museum Foundation, PO Box 530, 205 W State Street, Trenton, NJ 08625-0530.
