Jean M. Fritzsche
Jean M. Fritzsche, 85, passed away Saturday after a lengthy illness at Genesis Health Care Cranbury Center, Monroe Township.
Born in Millburn NJ, she was a long-time resident of Ewing Township, and more recently resided at Care One at Hamilton, Hamilton Township.
Daughter of the late Otto and Mary Fritzsche, and sister of the late Jud Fritzsche, she is survived by 2 nieces, Pamela Fritzsche Dean (David) of Coatesville, PA and Carol Fritzsche Del Sordo (Jim) of Downingtown, PA, a sister-in-law Barbara Fritzsche of Media, PA, 2 great nieces, a great nephew, and a number of cousins.
Jean graduated in 1949 from Trenton Central High School, and in 1951 earned an Associate in Arts degree from Centenary Junior College in Hackettstown, NJ.
Jean was career employee of New Jersey Bell/Verizon, holding various supervisory positions, retiring in 1988. She was an active member in several Verizon Pioneers retirement groups.
Jean was an avid reader, interested in a wide variety of topics, and very much enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was an active member at West Trenton Presbyterian Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She also worked as church secretary for several years.
Additionally, Jean volunteered with Meals on Wheels of Mercer County for several years.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday March 23 from 10:00am-11:00am at the West Trenton Presbyterian Church, 490 Grand Avenue, West Trenton, New Jersey 08628. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00am.
Interment will immediately follow in Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, NJ.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Jean’s memory to The American Cancer Society, and to the American Heart Association.
