James John Fitzpatrick




James John Fitzpatrick

On April 24, 2016, James John Fitzpatrick died peacefully in his home.

He was born in 1928 in Trenton, NJ, to James and Florence Fitzpatrick. He was a graduate of Trenton Catholic High School, St. Joseph's College and Jefferson Medical College.

James married, and was predeceased by, Rita Keffer Fitzpatrick. They became the parents of eight children. He was predeceased by Thomas Vincent Fitzpatrick. He is survived by Mary Liz Ivins, Rita and Aldo Cavalli, Rose Mary and Gordon Stevenson, Anne Louise and Michael Stevens, Marie and Lubo Sarvas, Dr. James Fitzpatrick and Dr. Michael and Stacy Fitzpatrick.

In addition, he was blessed with 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Jack Fitzpatrick.

James served as a flight surgeon in the Air Force. He worked for many years as director of medical education at St. Francis Hospital. He was vice president for medical affairs at Paul Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood.

After years of service to the seminarians of St. Joseph's in Princeton, James was initiated as an affiliate member of the Congregation of the Mission of the Vincentian Order. He was a member of Incarnation Parish.

Following a private family viewing, a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Incarnation Church on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Cedar Lane in Hamilton.
Arrangements are by the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Incarnation Parish.
