Richard C. Lloyd
On Saturday, May 7, 2016, Richard Charles Lloyd was called home to heaven after of long battle with heart complications.
Dick was a friend to many and always had a desire to help anyone he could.
His grandchildren were his greatest joy.
He retired after 39 years from the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation (DOT), and the New Jersey National Air Guard CE108 after 39 years of service.
Dick was a longtime member of the FOP #83, and was a safety instructor for NJ Hunters Education, and volunteered for Signal 22. He was also an honorary member of the Wednesday Men’s Group at First Baptist Church in Orlando, FL.
Son of the late Edward S. and Hilda Thorpe Lloyd, brother of the late Edward H. Lloyd and Jean Yates, he is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Joyce Betz Lloyd of Ewing; his daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Louis Giovacchini; his three grandchildren Mark, Louis, and Elizabeth; his sister, June Hofmann; his two sisters-in-law, Marie Mihavetz and husband Michael, and Mary Lloyd; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing.
Services will begin at 11:00 AM at the funeral home
At this time the family would like to thank Preferred Care and RWJUH Hospice for their care given to Dick during his battle.
