Maudie T. Kelvy
Maudie T. Kelvy, 85, of Hamilton passed away at her home Saturday with her loving family by her side.

Born in Columbia, NC, she was a Hamilton resident for more than 60 years.

A 1949 graduate of Creswell (NC) High School, Mrs. Kelvy was a teacher’s assistant with the Hamilton Twp. School District, retiring in 1996 after 23 years of service.

Daughter of the late Jessie and Patsie Ward Twiddy, sister of the late Elizabeth Schaeffer, Mattie Ambrose, Isaac and Jessie Twiddy, Jr., she is survived by her husband of 62 years, Raymond A. Kelvy, Sr.; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Fred Goldfarb of Jackson, NJ, and Teresa and Raymond Carson of Lawrenceville; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond A. Jr., and Joan Kelvy, and Michael and Marianna Kelvy all of Hamilton; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Irdell and Andrew Twiddy both of NC; also, many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00am to 12:00pm at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton. Private burial to immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, Inc., 248 East Chestnut Hill Road, Suite 4, Newark, DE 19713.
