Jean E. Irwin
Jean E. Irwin, 83, of Hillsborough passed away Sunday at Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center at Hillsborough.
Born in Trenton, she was a longtime resident of Ewing where she and Bob raised their children. Jean graduated from Cathedral High School and The Mercer Hospital School of Nursing where she worked her early years as a registered nurse.
The greatest joy in her life was spending time with her family.
An avid reader, Jean spent many days baking her famous “Mrs. Irwin” chocolate chip cookies for everyone.
Daughter of the late John and Anna Mullen McCormack, wife of the late Robert J. Irwin, and sister of the late Catherine Webb, John and Charles McCormack, she is survived by her children, Susan E. (Carol) Girard-Irwin of Somerset, Robert J. (Penny) Irwin of Cherry Hill, and Thomas J. (Susan) Irwin of Hillsborough; 8 grandchildren, Lauren, Leah, Kaitlyn, Patricia, Michael, Robert, Kelly and Patrick; a sister, Mary M. Gray of Hillsborough; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 9 – 11AM at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing. Funeral Service will begin at 11AM. Burial will follow in Ewing Cemetery.
