Kathleen (Daly) Watson
Kathleen (Daly) Watson, 68, Columbus, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 surrounded by family at University Medical Center at Princeton.
Kathy was born in Trenton, NJ and graduated from Notre Dame High School and Douglass College at Rutgers University. She taught school at Northern Burlington Regional School District, retiring in 2004. She was a resident of Lawrenceville, NJ for over 20 years before moving to Chesterfield and then Columbus, NJ.
Daughter of the late Josephine Cier and James J. Daly Sr., and sister of the late James J. Daly Jr. and Judith Daly, Kathy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Meghan and Josh Watson; her three grandchildren, James, Ryan and Fallon; her three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Peggy and Ken, Betsy and Mark, and Arleen; her two brothers and sister-in-law, Jeff and Sue, and Chris; her niece, Casey Daly and two nephews, Chris Young and Michael Daly.
Kathy will be remembered most for her devotion to her family, especially her grandchildren. ‘Smart Grandmom’, as she was lovingly referred, could not have been more proud of grandchildren (James (12), Ryan (10) and Fallon (3)) attending countless sporting events and spending time with them every chance she got. When not watching soccer or baseball, she was always busy making others smile—organizing a closet, baking the infamous carrot cake, volunteering as a tutor or catching up with her book club. She will be sadly missed by many friends and extended relatives, especially Faith Davies and Judy Rottkamp.
Calling hours will be Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing, NJ 08618.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, at 10AM at St. Hedwig’s Church, 872 Brunswick Ave., Trenton, NJ 08638.
Burial will follow in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, Ewing.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
