Thomas J. Collins, Sr.
Thomas J. Collins, Sr., 57, of Trenton, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in Hainesport, NJ.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, Tom was raised and lived his entire life in Trenton, forging many lifelong friendships with those from South Trenton and Chambersburg, as well as his classmates from Trenton High – Class of 1977.
He was a skilled mill operator for Pelmor Laboratories Inc. in Bensalem, PA following his many years of employment at Rheim Chem.
Son of the late Dorothy Collins Johannes, and brother of the late Dorrie Collins, he is survived by his wife, Michele F. Miller of Hainesport, NJ; his son and daughter-in-law Tom and Caroline Collins, Jr. of Cherry Hill, NJ; his daughter, Sophia Collins of Hainesport, NJ; his two sisters, Irene Hosszu of Trenton and Pattie Collins of Bensalem, PA and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and the dearest of friends.
Tom, a devoted father with the soul of a musician, shared his love of music with his children, offering them many genres to enjoy because he grew up in a house filled with music and singing. Tom often spoke through his music and let you know what was going on inside of him.
Tom was also an avid lover of sports; he followed many and read four newspapers daily. Needless to say, he knew the songs, the artists who sang them and the athletes who did and would make history.
A really good and genuine guy, he will be sorely missed. We wish him everlasting peace.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 noon at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home 1863 Hamilton Ave. in Hamilton.
Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 noon.
