James T. Tardugno Sr.
James T. Tardugno Sr., 80, of Hamilton passed away Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing at Morris Hall, Lawrenceville.

Born in Teaneck, NJ, he was a Hamilton resident for over 40 years. Mr. Tardugno was a graduate of St. Cecelia’s High School, Englewood Class of 1955.

A member of NJSIAA and on their Board for Track and Field, he was deeply involved in local sports officiating Track and Field events and coaching youth baseball and basketball in Mercer County. Also, he was active in the Katzenbach School for the Deaf community and Athletic Booster Club.

A devoted Catholic, he was always involved with his local church and served on the council of St. Michael’s Church in Trenton.

Son of the late James and Mary C. O’Dowd Tardugno, he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rose Emily Tardugno of Hamilton; 3 children, James T. Tardugno, Jr. of MD. Catherine and her husband Woody Knamm of Hamilton, and John D and his wife Barbette Tardugno of Hamilton; 3 grandchildren, Michael and Megan Knamm, and Dominick Tardugno.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 9AM at St. Michael’s RC Church, 1130 Brunswick Ave., Trenton, NJ 08638. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.

Arrangements are under the direction of the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing, NJ. There are no calling hours at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
