Artemis Vrettos, 96, of Hamilton, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Hamilton Continuing Care in Hamilton.
Born in Carthage, NY. Mrs. Vrettos, resided most of her life in the Trenton – Hamilton area.
She was a homemaker, and a bookkeeper for Trenton Stove in Trenton, retiring after many years. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Hamilton, founded by her Grandfather, the late Reverend Father George Servetas, where she served for many years as bookkeeper and secretary.
She was an active woman whose life centered around her church. If there was an activity, she participated and if there was a dance, she was the first on the floor. She was close to her siblings and loyal to her friends.
Daughter of the late Simeon and Avril Servetas Rochonchou. She was a good and loving wife who shared 59 years with her husband, the late Anthony N. Vrettos. She was predeceased by her two sisters; Margaret Theodoris and Georgia Fokides. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Nicholas Karnavas of New Port Richey, FL; two sons and daughters-in-law, Nicholas and Bonnie Vrettos of Williamsburg, VA, and John and Angela Vrettos of Interlaken, NJ; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Tina Rochonchou of Yardville; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be Thursday morning from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church 1200 Klockner Rd. Hamilton, NJ 08619.
Funeral services will begin on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the church.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
Arrangements are by the M. William Murphy Funeral Home 1863 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton.
Donations may be made in Artemis’ memory to St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
